The 3M™ 6003 Organic Vapor/Acid Gas Cartridge provides respiratory protection by filtering certain organic vapors or acid gases. It is compatible for use with 3M™ 6000, 7000, and FF-400 series half-mask and full-face respirators (with a cartridge-style filter holder).
The 3M™ 6003 Organic Vapor/Acid Gas Cartridge can provide vapor and acid gas protection in a variety of different environments. When properly fitted to an approved 3M respirator and correctly assembled, this cartridge can effectively filter certain organic vapors, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen sulfide (NIOSH), or hydrogen fluoride. In half-mask use, the filters can be used for concentrations up to 10 times the permissible exposure limit (PEL); in full-facepiece use, up to 50 times the PEL. Recommended applications include assembly and machinery, batch feeding, transfer, chemical dispensing, clean-up, cleaning, loading and unloading, painting, parts cleaning, pesticide application, powders, and sealant coatings. Due to the versatility of this cartridge, it can help reduce the inventory and training requirements for safety equipment. Common industries of use include agriculture, aluminum reduction, chemical manufacturing, laboratories, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, and utilities.
This organic vapor or acid gas cartridge is designed for use with 3M™ 6000, 7000, and FF-400 series half-mask and full-facepiece respirators (with a cartridge-style holder). The product is NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) approved for use in environments containing certain organic vapors and acid gases. It should not be used in IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health) environments. The NIOSH-assigned color code for this cartridge is "yellow".
